My name is Clare and i am a dedicated fully qualified, HCPC registered Podiatrist with almost 20 years of NHS based experience treating various foot conditions.
My passion for foot health and patient care drives me to provide the best treatment options available whatever that may be to keep peoples feet at the healthiest and most comfortable they can be.
I have been lucky (or unlucky!) in my career to have seen a multitude of feet, some healthy but mostly unhealthy and I have dedicated my work life to putting all of my energy into helping people improve their health, discomfort and function so they can continue to lead as full a life as possible.
I lead a busy life with my husband of 20 years being in the Royal Navy and often at sea and raising my 15 year old daughter alongside our energetic dacshund Rolo, our cat Socks and hamster Rosemary. when my husband is home we love spending time as a family and travelling as much as we’re able to!

Whether you have healthy or troublesome nails that are causing you discomfort, they can be hard to reach and manage yourself and people can be concerned if they are managing them in the correct way which is very common, more than you think! With my expertise I can help you with this by giving you the treatment you need to make you more comfortable and prevent further deterioration.
Corns and callus form due to friction and pressure and can cause pain and discomfort, I will be able to remove these areas to improve comfort and function and consider if there are further treatments that could reduce them from returning or help manage them better. I have a lot of experience over many years treating these problematic conditions as painlessly as possible and I am well known for my gentle touch.
Toe deformities, such as hammertoes and mallet toes, can cause pain and discomfort. I May be able to give you footwear advice or make custom made devices to help manage this and if needed write to your GP to request a referral be made for a surgical opinion if appropriate.
Everybody’s feet are unique due to all sorts of different factors including shape, width, occupation and how and where they've taken you over the years, it all has an impact on our feet! Because of this we all may need something different from the shoes we wear. Different shoes are designed to provide maximum comfort and support for your feet and this is something I can give you lots of advice about.
Unfortunately due to the demands on the NHS they do not have the capacity to see any lower risk diabetic feet so if your GP or practice nurse is either unable to refer you or their referral is rejected this isn’t necessarily a bad news as your health or feet are too healthy to be seen under the NHS.
This is one of the main areas I treated when I worked in the NHS and I have breadth of knowledge in this area and the complexities of how it affects the feet. I can offer my knowledge and advice to keep your feet at optimal health to reduce the risk of decline and if you were having issues prompt emergency advice and treatment to help you manage alongside your GP and practice nurse.
I can aid in onward referrals if needed to specialist diabetes care if and when appropriate.
Fungal infections can occur in the skin and nails on our feet and can be unsightly and have unwanted side affects. They can often be difficult to treat and i can offer step by step advice on how to manage this and tips on how to prevent reoccurrence.
Sometimes people assume they have a fungal infection of their nail and it may not be the case. I have seen so many in my career and can normally tell by just looking at a nail and there are very easy tests nowadays to give you more definitive results in minutes if this is needed.
If you are struggling with a nail due to it thickness I can also help manage this by reducing it and can help assess if removing it may be best and help you put a plan in place if appropriate
This has probably been one of my favourite areas to have practiced in and I have seen many many of these in my time and carried out assessments and surgeries on countless patients on a weekly basis. Having an in growing toe nail can be either acutely or chronically painful and it may be that if treated quickly can be resolved with one or several treatments which may involve removing a small section of nail if assessed as being safe and suitable and then advice given on how to prevent this happening again.
It may also be that it has been present for sometime and you actually may require further treatment which could include a minor surgical procedure which I may be able to assess you for and put a plan in place to carry out this treatment in a clinical setting rather than your own home if appropriate.
I can also assist you with advice on how to seek this care on the NHS and onward referral if needed too, it’s important to get the right care that is correct for you or your loved one and this can affect anyone at any age and I am happy to see anyone and everyone who needs this.
I have great pride in making everyone as comfortable as I possibly can and putting you at ease for every assessment as I explain all of the options available so that the right plan is put in place so you feel satisfied with what your next step is to get this condition resolved.
